  • Bread, a toaster and or a frying pan with lard

  Method

  1. Some like toast with the breakfast.  Get a good toaster wuch as the Dualit toaster - they are expensive but last for ever.  Mine is 50 years old and still going strong though I have needed spares which after 50 years are readily available.
  2. But white bread or brown or wholemeal?  You decide, my preference is my own made 50% or 70% wholemeal.
  3. What about frying.  Medium heat deep fat and probably just white bread.  A good and lower fat variety can be produced by toasting the bread first and just frying gently in the bacon fats.
  4. My preference is for plain wholemeal bread to soak up the fats and egg yolk but that doesn't work if you like your eggs cremated.
  5. Some even butter the bread or toast.  Surely there is enough fat in the breakfast.
