One Stage Pastry

Ingredients

  • 140  g margarine softened or half margarine and half lard
  • 2 tbsp of cold water
  • 225 g of plain flour
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients into the mixing bowl but retain half of the flour.
  2. Mix on speed 1 and cream all the ingredients together for approximately 15 seconds until well mixed.
  3. Then add the remaining flour and mix for a further 15 - 20 seconds on speed 1 until it has become a firm dough.
  4. The pastry is cooked at 160C or Gas Mark 7.
