Ginger Sauce

 

 Ingredients

  • 8 dried mushrooms
  • 6 tbsp vinegar
  • 6 tbs sugar
  • 175 ml Cup of Water
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped spring onions
  • 1 tbsp Cornflower
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 1.4 tbsp Ginger Powder

Method  

  1. Soak the mushrooms in hot waster for 30 minutes or use fresh mushrooms
  2. Discard the mushroom stalks and thinly slice the mushroom heads
  3. Put the mushroooms, vinegar, sugar, water and soy sauce into a small saucepan and boil for 5 minutes
  4. Add the Spring Onions using most of the green portion as well.
  5. Blend the cornflour smoothly with the 1tbsp of cold water. and stir into the sauce.
  6. Cook the sauce stirring until clear and thickened.
  7. Remove from the heat and stir in the Ginger Powder.
  8. This is an excellent sauce for fried fish, roast chicken or steak.
