Warm the bowl and beat thoroughly. Place the butter and sugar in the bowl and cream this on speed 3 until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs a little at a time beating thoroughly after each addition. A little flour at this stage will help to prevent curdling.

Reduce to minimum speed and add the flour and any flavouring and mix until incorporated. A little milk to form a soft dropping consistency could be needed.

Using a cake tin for small cakes put a paper case in each and then a dessertspoonful into each case.Bake at 350F Gas 4 for 10 to 15 minutes.

When touched the sponge should be firm.

Mix the icing sugar with water and add the orange food colouring. Ice the buns.

Allow the icing to dry and place a chocolate button in the centre of each iced bun.

Mix the icing sugar with water and add the black food colouring.

Ice scary legs onto the buns.
