Viennese Biscuits

Ingredients 170 g Butter or Margarine
60 g Caster Sugar
115 g Plain Flour
60 g Corn Flour
few drops Vanilla Essence
glace cherries
Angelica

Method

Cream the sugar and the butter or margarine until light and fluffy.

Fold in the sieved flour and corn flour and add the Vanilla Essence.

Place the mixture in a piping bag fitted with a large nozzle and pipe the mixture in facy shapes on a greased baking sheet.

Decorate with pieces of glace cherries and andgelica.

Bake in the centre of the oven at 180C or Gas Mark 4 for 15-20 Minutes.

Lunch time was dinner in my home so the evening after school was tea.  These biscuits were a firm favorite of mine though I notice from my mother's writing that this recipe was taken from People's Friend on 16th April 1979.
