Macaroni Cheese

macaroni cheese

Ingredients
30 g Plain Flour
30 g Butter or Margarine
300 ml Milk
90 g Cheese
60 g Macaroni
Salt and Pepper

Method

Wash the macaroni and break it up into small pieces.  The put them into boiling waster to which a tsp of salt has been added.  Boil until tender and then strain.

Grate the cheese.  Melt the butter in a saucepan add the flour and cook for a few minutes.  Gradually add the milk stirring well until it forms a thick sauce.   Season to taste.

Add the cheese and the macaroni.  Turn into a greased pie dish and sprinkle with a few bread crumbs.  

Bake for 15 minutes until brown.

My mother made this from time to time but I have to say it is still not may favorite dish.  However, I am told by connoisseurs of macaroni that it is excellent.
