Sprouts Chestnuts and Bacon

Ingredients

 

1 kilo sprouts

6 rashers of streaky smoked bacon

280g of vacuum packed chestnuts

 

Method

  1. Trim the sprouts and place them in a pan of boiling water and cook for 5 minutes and set aside.
  2. Cut the bacon into 1" squares and fry until brown and almost crisp
  3. Chop the chestnuts into quarters and add to the bacon.
  4.  Place the sprouts, bacon and chestnuts into a baking pan, cover with foil and bake on medium heat for 5 minutes or until the sprouts are to your liking.

Note:   I also fry some onions until transparent and also add them to the sprouts, bacon and chestnuts in the oven.
