Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C
- In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour and the eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to continue. Add teh salt and melted butter. Beat until smooth.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over a medium to high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle and spread to form a thin layer. In the case of a pan tilt the pan so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
- Cook the ccrepes for about 2 minutes until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other sdie.
- Serve hot.
- Possible fillings are jam, lemon or orange juice and sugar, ice cream or fruit.
- Also rather nice served flambeed with liquour such as grand marnier, cognac etc.
We call these pancakes. Crepes is the French name. To be honest there is a little difference in the thickness of the product. The French crepes tend to be thinner.
