Walnut Tablet

Ingredients

 

 

 

225g

Sugar

 

115 ml

milk

 

half tbs

Golden Syrup

 

115 g

Shelled Walnuts

 

30 g 

Vegetable Fat eg White Flora or Trex

 

half tsp

Vanilla Essence

Method

Dissolve the sugar, fat and golden syrup slowly in milk.  Boil steadily for 20 minutes - do not stir.  Remove from the heat and cool slightly.  Add the chopped nuts and vanilla Essence.  Beat with a wooden spoon until it begins to thick.  Pour onto a greased tin and cut when cold.
