Chestnut and Herb Stuffing

 

 Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 60 - 80 g melted butter
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 500g soft bread cubes  or crumbs
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • several stalks of celery
  • 1 small bowl of chestnuts

  Method

  1. In a Kenwood Mixitng bowl add the salt, sage, thyme.  Add the breadcrumbs, and pour over enough water to make the bread moist.
  2. Peel and Chop the chestnuts, though I buy tinned chestnuts because I am lazy.
  3. Add the onions and chopped chestnuts and the melted butter.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Stuff the turkey or chicken.
