Porridge - Oats

 

 Ingredients

  • 100g Porridge Oats - Quaker
  • 400ml milk
  • pinch of salt

Method  

  1. Put the Oats into a pan
  2. Pour on 400 ml milk
  3. Add the pinch of salt
  4. Stir well and leave overnight
  5. In the morning place the pan on a moderate flame and stir from time to time to ensure the porridge doesn't stick and burn
  6. Add more milk if necessary.
  7. Serve with honey, golden syrup, fruit, clotted cream or simply sprinkle with sugar.
  8. My friend Rodney suggests sprinkling it well with Golden Castor Sugar and then take a Kitchen Torch and caramelize the sugar and hey presto Porridge Brulee.
